Demystifying Network Marketing – The Ins and Outs of Utilizing it for Success

If you listen closely, you’ll hear the buzz.  Do you hear it?  It’s the sound of billions of dollars being made by people all over the world, and all of them are Network Marketing.  What is it and why is everyone so excited by it?  How can it help you lead your home based business to the success you’ve been dreaming about?  To understand what it can do for you, first you need to understand what it is – and what it isn’t.

Network marketing (NM), sometimes known as multi-level marketing (MLM), actually has a fairly simple definition; people helping others to thrive by the use and/or the sale of a related product, information, and/or service within a teamwork structure.  In legitimate network marketing, all monies earned are from the sale of a product, information, and/or a service.  Read that again!  Nowhere did I mention any pyramid schemes to bring the dollars rolling in.  In fact, that is one of the largest misnomers about network marketing, and the main reason many people involved in Internet home based businesses shy away from it.

Those that work at home are interested in increasing their bottom-line, but to many, the phrase network marketing (or MLM) brings to mind an unethical business practice.  Let me make this clear – true network marketing does not involve the use of any unscrupulous methods to raise a profit.  Akin to the riddle, “What came first, the chicken or the egg?” network marketing’s definition is often confused by the practice of pyramid swindles, chain letters, and other money-making scams.  However, in this case, the riddle is easily answered.  Network marketing came first, and those with unethical business minds found ways to utilize it to their advantage.

To make it even easier to understand – in legitimate network marketing, no commission, or any sort of income, is earned based on recruiting others into the business alone or from any other types of scams.

Make sense?  Good!

Now that you have the basic knowledge of what network marketing is, and what it isn’t, you may be wondering why you should use it for your Internet home business.  In a nutshell – network marketing is the number one way in the United States to earn a profit.  That buzz I mentioned earlier?  It’s there for a reason – the big boom of networking marketing is increasing daily, and many people all over the country are finding how easy it is to utilize it in their work at home business.  The goal of network marketing is to assist others in building their businesses, which leads to a trickle down effect of earning money.  This trickle quickly turns into a flood – if you find the right people to lead you down the path to your own fortune.
